About this artwork
A man’s profile, half-lit and thoughtful, defines Wayne Thiebaud’s self-portrait titled 'Wayne'. The artist’s face emerges from soft shadows, a quiet moment captured in time. The artwork is a study in restraint. Earthy tones of ochre and umber dominate the palette, while delicate crosshatching adds texture and depth. The background fades into obscurity, drawing focus to the subject’s contemplative expression. This understated portrait suits a reading nook or a study, where its subtle presence complements the solitude of quiet reflection.Questions about Wayne
