About this artwork
A quiet solitude fills the frame in Wayne. The artist’s self-portrait emerges from a muted background, creating an intimate connection with the viewer. The artwork’s simplicity draws you in, inviting contemplation.
Thiebaud’s use of soft ochre and subtle crosshatching lends depth to the portrait. The subject’s direct gaze meets yours, while the faintest hint of a smile lingers. Shadows play gently across the face, adding dimension without distraction.
This print suits a study or reading nook, where its understated presence complements moments of reflection.
