About this artwork

A self-portrait of the artist, Wayne is a study in quiet introspection. The artwork, titled 'Wayne', offers a glimpse into the artist's own gaze, steady and unflinching. The composition is simple, yet profound in its directness.
The palette is subdued, dominated by soft ochres and muted browns. Thiebaud's skillful use of light and shadow creates depth, highlighting the contours of his face. The background is indistinct, ensuring the viewer's focus remains on the artist's expression.
This poster would suit a study or a personal library, where its contemplative mood can be appreciated.
